Positive Thoughts and the Law of Attraction

Stuart Ginbey | April 19, 2009

Positive Thoughts and the Law of Attraction are two things that naturally go hand in hand. This is a concept that I have never really understood. Of course I knew that by having positive thoughts, then the laws of the Universe would allow positive things to happen to me. That’s fine and it makes sense. But the problem was that I had never really found success. At least not to the level that I wanted it to be. I had been punching away at strategy after strategy, trying to make a success of myself, but nothing ever really clicked. The pressure that I was putting on myself to succeed was so great that I thought it would never happen. These types of Negative Thoughts then just brought me down and down and before I knew it, I was feeling depressed and was ready to give up. I just couldn’t be bothered to do anything about it.

I could see that the problem was caused by my emotions and I knew that the only way to get out of this spiraling depression was by reprogramming my mind. I was completely at the affect of my emotions and it was rapidly turning into a vicious circle.

I guess it was something like this:Depression Image

  • NEGATIVE EMOTIONS
  • CREATED NEGATIVE THOUGHTS
  • CREATED NEGATIVE ACTIONS
  • CREATED NEGATIVE EVENTS
  • CREATED  MORE NEGATIVE EMOTIONS

So when I looked at this process and understood how it worked, it became blindingly obvious to me that by the laws of Yin and Yang and Every Action Having An Equal And Opposite Reaction, I thought that if it works with negative thoughts then it should also work with Positive Thoughts. By starting with Positive Thoughts, I would start to take Positive Action and this would eventually lead to Positive Results. Positive Results makes me feel really good and so the cycle starts again. Snowballing into a sequence or Lifetime of Success. By the natural Law Of Attraction, I am creating my own success. I guess the sequence should really look like this:

  • POSITIVE THOUGHTS
  • CREATE MORE POSITIVE EMOTIONS
  • CREATES POSITIVE EVENTS
  • CREATES POSITIVE ACTIONS
  • PRODUCES MORE POSITIVE THOUGHTS

I often wonder what makes some people “LUCKY” and others “UNLUCKY”. A lot of people have said to me over the years that I am one of those “lucky people” and that “good things always happen to me“. Well now I beg to differ. I now realize that it is our Positive Thoughts and our belief in the Natural Law of Attraction, that create our “Luck”. I’m not one of the lucky ones. I’ve just learnt the process of Reprogramming the Mind For Success.

Happy People

Positive Thoughts, lead to Positive Actions, which produce Positive Results.

Yours sincerely,

Stuart Ginbey

Mindfulness Meditation

Stuart Ginbey | February 10, 2009

As part of my journey to ‘Reprogram The Mind For Success‘ I will be joining a group of like minded friends in a 6 week Introductory course on Mindfulness Meditation. The aim of the whole exercise is to clear the ‘Noise’ from inside my mind and hopefully learn some new techniques about how to maintain a sense of  inner calm.

I guess I should start by explaining what I understand Mindfulness Meditation to be. I see it as one of the many different forms of meditation and one that focusses on being aware of the present moment. In its Buddhist context, mindfulness meditation has three purposes: knowing the mind; training the mind; and freeing the mind. The first stage is about ‘The Noise’. Knowing what it is that makes your mind so busy all the time. This is the clutter that keeps us getting distracted from the task at hand. Once we understand what we are looking for, it is easier to clear it out. The next step is ‘Training The Mind”. This is where I will literally train my mind to operate in a way that benefits me the most. Just like anything else in life, in order to improve, I need to step out of my comfort zone and put in the extra effort.

So I invite you to join me on this little journey of self discovery. I will be meditating a minimum of 3 times per week for atleast 20 minutes per session and I will share the experience with you. I will talk about how it felt, was it relaxing, what was I distracted by, and whether I found it difficult. Hopefully, by the end of the 6 weeks, we will see some sort of progression.

Yours sincerely,

Stuart Ginbey
